The 60-year-old Oscar winner filed a lawsuit against his father and uncle on Friday for refusing to repay an $870,000 loan from 1984.
Dreyfuss says he gave his relatives the good faith loan 24 years ago to bail them out of trouble that involved an office building in downtown Los Angeles.Court records show Richard Dreyfuss has dismissed a lawsuit he filed against his uncle and father.
Dreyfuss sued the men last year, claiming they owed him nearly $4 million on an unpaid loan.
The "Mr. Holland's Opus" and "Jaws" actor claimed he loaned his father, Norman, and uncle Gilbert Dreyfuss, money in the early 1980s. His suit stated the men operated a building in downtown Los Angeles.
Court records did not indicate the terms of any settlement, but allow Dreyfuss to refile the case if necessary.
